I've been a little lazy about running 3 times per week. It gets tough when I have a lot of stuff to do and I can't run before I shower in the morning (I hate taking two showers in one day... so drying.)
Despite not running as often as I used to, I can tell that I need new running shoes. My right foot hurts every so often, and my left hip has been cracking/popping at the beginning of my runs (and I can't stretch it out as far when I'm stretching.) I should be talking to a doctor about this, but I'm an idiot and figure it'll heal in time. I figure if it gets worse I will, but right now it isn't bothering me outside of running. I've been wearing the same Nikes for about a year, but I've been thinking about getting Asics or Mizunos. They're supposed to be better for running, but I still am not sure which shoe to get since I don't know anything about my arch or my pronation. Le sigh...
Any advice from seasoned runners/shoe experts? I try to run on the balls of my feet, but other than that, I don't know about whether I run more on the inside or outside of my feet...

I have asics gel-kayano's. they are really comfortable, but kinda expensive... Also, they say to buy running shoes 1/2 size to a full size bigger because your feet swell while running. and if your feet REALLY hurt, like mine did (i have a foot problem related to flat feet), you can go to a podiatrist and get orthotics made. you might wanna make sure your insurance covers it first because they are REALLY expensive. (like.. $300-400). every couple months lady footlocker has a 30% off coupon, i'm waiting for it to come out again and i'm gonna buy another pair of shoes. i'll let you know when i get it and forward it to you =)
ReplyDeleteyay! i appreciate the advice :)
